Ask for a Delayed Settlement
If you haven't found another property to buy one option is to ask for a delayed settlement. Often buyers are happy to settle on their new purchase a little later giving themselves extra time to pack up their old home.
Rent your Home from your Buyer
Whether you are waiting for the purchase of your next property to close or you can’t find a rental property, try to negotiate with your buyer to stay in your home and pay rent to them.
You may offer to either cut the purchase price or negotiate a weekly amount. This is by far the best method because it will give you more time without having to move out from your old home.
Rent another House
Another method open to you is put your things in storage and find a rental property that adequately meets your requirements. With leases of three, six or 12 months, this will help you out if you are still researching the market and thinking of what to do next.
Live with Friends or Relatives
If we are just talking a few weeks’ accommodations, friends and relatives are your best option. A few weeks is not long enough to need a written lease but long enough for you to need a roof over your head. In exchange for their hospital, give board money or money for utilities, or do housework.
If these don’t work out, consider share accommodation for a few weeks’ stay.
Live in Style (if your Budget Allows)
You will find hotels that offer temporary long-term stay, which might be more practical if you are looking at commuting to work and you don’t want to do that. Consider it as a holiday lifestyle before you tackle your next major project.
With many options available to you, take pleasure in your quick sale and consider yourself fortunate.
